When you're starting a small business, deciding its legal structure is one of the first steps. Legal structure is usually determined by the business type, the number of owners or investors it has, and how tax and liability issues are best managed. You'll likely use an abbreviation, such as Inc., Ltd., Co., or LLC, after your business's name to indicate its structure.

Inc. for Incorporated Companies Inc. is the abbreviation for incorporated. An incorporated company, or corporation, is a separate legal entity from the person or people forming it. Directors and officers purchase shares in the business and have responsibility for its operation. Incorporation limits an individual's liability in case of a lawsuit.

The corporation, as a legal entity, is liable for its own debts and pays taxes on its earnings, and can also sell stock to raise money. A corporation is also able to continue as an entity after the death of a director or stock sale. A corporation is formed according to state law, through application to the secretary of state and filing articles of incorporation.

Because corporations cost more to administer and are legally complex, the U.S. Small Business Administration recommends that small businesses not incorporate unless they become established as a large company. In most states, corporations must add a corporate designation, such as Inc. after their business name.

Ltd. for Limited Companies A limited company can be abbreviated to Ltd. This structure is used mostly in European countries and Canada. In a limited company, directors and shareholders have limited liability for the company's debt, as long as the business operates within the law. Its directors pay income tax and the company pays corporation tax on profits. The term is used interchangeable with Inc. or incorporated.

Responsibility for company debt is usually limited to the amount a person has invested in the company. A limited company can be set up in four different ways. In some companies, a shareholder's liability is limited to specific predetermined amounts, drawn up in a memorandum. These businesses are known as "private company limited by guarantee," and shareholders are called guarantors.

Charities and social enterprise groups frequently use this structure. In England, limited companies must also have a pay-as-you-earn system established for collecting income tax payments and National Insurance contributions from all employees.

Companies in General Co. is an abbreviation for company, a catchall phrase for an association of people working together in a commercial or industrial enterprise, such as in a sole proprietorship, limited liability company or corporation. The abbreviation Co., like the word company, does not carry meaning as a specific legal structure on its own.

Limited Liability Companies LLC stands for "limited liability company." An LLC brings together some features of both business partnerships and corporations, although it is more like a partnership. Owners, also called "members," are protected from liability, but the business's earnings and losses pass through to owners, who report them on their personal income taxes. This makes its structure less complex than that of a corporation, but like a corporation, LLCs must offer stock.

Members share profits as they like. Members are considered self-employed and must pay self-employment tax. When a member of the LLC leaves, the business is dissolved and the remaining members decide if they want to start a new business. An LLC is also formed according to state law, through application to to the secretary of state and filing articles of incorporation. LLCs must also indicate in their names that they are an LLC or limited company.

Nice thread, thank you for this information. I like pretty girls but I'm already married. I think that finding a girl on dating sites is easy. It just needs to take time to weed out fakes and those girls who do not suit you. If you’re planning a winter fishing trip to the far north, an ice auger should be at the top of your packing list. You’ll use it to drill holes through the ice, giving you access to the pike, walleye, lake trout, or burbot living in the frigid depths below. There are many different ice augers to choose from. Will a hand auger be sufficient for your needs, or is it worth spending more money on a power auger? If you opt for the latter, you’ll need to decide between gas, propane, and electric models to find the best fit for you.

Here are the best ice augers available.

Our Top Picks Best Overall: StrikeMaster Honda-Lite Power Auger

BUY FROM BASSPRO.COM For serious ice fishermen, the StrikeMaster Honda-Lite Power Auger is a top-of-the-range option that stands out for its Honda™ 35cc Four-Stroke OHC engine. Four-stroke engines are quieter and cleaner than the two-stroke engines used by many other ice auger brands. Best of all, you don’t have to mix your fuel with oil, giving you one less thing to think about while preparing for your next ice fishing expedition. This auger’s engine is emission certified and carries a limited two-year warranty.

Reviewers love the supreme efficiency of the StrikeMaster drill, with its twin serrated stainless steel laser blades. The 10-inch blade is designed to cut through thick ice, creating a big hole perfect for targeting larger species (such as pike or lake trout). Long-filament handles reduce the impact on your wrists and shoulders, while polymer gear casting keeps the auger as lightweight as possible. Nevertheless, this machine measures 42.8 x 17 x 11.5 inches and weighs in at 26 pounds—which could be a drawback for those who need to pack light.

Best Budget: Eskimo Hand Ice Auger

BUY FROM AMAZON BUY FROM $%!@'S A wallet-friendly option for those that don’t have hundreds of dollars to spare on a power auger, the Eskimo Hand Ice Auger comes in 6, 7, or 8-inch blade sizes. Its entry-level design is simple, yet it performs well—especially during the early season when ice is at its thinnest.

The comfortable pommel handle allows you to drill through the ice without getting too tired, while the dual-flat blades are designed for a clean cut. An included blade protector ensures that your blades stay sharp for longer, giving you even better value for money. The auger has an adjustable 49 to 58-inch length and can be broken down into two pieces for easy transport. The largest blade size (8 inches) weighs in at 7.5 pounds.

The 10 Best Ice Fishing Boots of 2020 Best Two-Stroke: Eskimo Mako 43cc Quantum Ice Auger

BUY FROM WALMART BUY FROM HOME DEPOT In addition to a cheaper price tag, two-stroke engines have a simpler design, making them easier to fix yourself. The Eskimo Mako 43cc Quantum Ice Auger boasts a primer button for quick starting and an extra large recoil handle that allows you to start it without removing your gloves. Other highlights include the fingertip throttle control and anti-vibration foam-grip handlebars; while the transparent gas tank makes it easy for you to check the fuel level out on the ice.

According to reviewers, the auger is incredibly efficient and requires surprisingly little fuel to drill multiple holes over the course of an extended fishing trip. Precision transmission pairs with Quantum™ dual stainless steel blades to give you maximum cutting power, while the included blade protector extends blade life. Choose yours with an 8 inch or 10-inch blade, depending on your fishing requirements. The 8-inch model weighs 31 pounds, while the 10-inch one tips the scale at 33 pounds.

Best Hand Auger: StrikeMaster Lazer Hand Auger

BUY FROM AMAZON BUY FROM WALMART BUY FROM CABELAS.COM The StrikeMaster Lazer Hand Auger uses chrome-alloy stainless steel laser blades to cut through the ice up to two times faster than the competition. It’s the ideal solution for those that need to pack light (perhaps for a charter flight to a remote destination, or for a hike to your favorite lake). Available with 5 inch, 6 inch, 7 inch, or 8-inch blades, this auger weighs just 5.5 to 8.5 pounds, depending on the size, and breaks down into two pieces for extra portability.

Reviewers love the fact that you don’t need to carry fuel or worry about an engine breaking down out on the ice. Powder-coated paint reduces ice build-up on the blades, while soft rubber grips and an ergonomic handle system reduce fatigue so you have the energy to dig multiple holes. The auger handle adjusts from 48 inches to 57 inches to suit a range of different ice thicknesses and/or angler heights.

The 9 Best Winter Traction Devices Best Propane: Jiffy 46 X-Treme Propane Auger

BUY FROM $%!@'S BUY FROM BASSPRO.COM Propane ice augers offer a quiet-running, clean-burning alternative to traditional gas-powered augers. Because they generate significantly less smoke, they are perfect for use inside an ice shack. In addition, propane augers are also more reliable, generally starting on the first or second pull without choking or flooding. The Jiffy 46 X-Treme Propane Auger uses a propane-powered 49cc 4-stroke OHV engine and features an aluminum tank holder and transmission.

Its large starter handle is designed for use with your gloves on, while the comfort-grip handles allow for a wide stance and maximum cutting power. The stainless steel drill bit features 8-inch blades, with a blade protector for extra longevity. There are other blade sizes available for this ice auger model, which weighs 32 to 35 pounds, depending on the size you choose.

Best Electric: Ion 40V Electric Ice Auger

BUY FROM AMAZON BUY FROM WALMART Although electric ice augers aren’t as effective for thick ice, they do have some major benefits. They’re the lightest and quietest power auger option, and you don’t have to worry about spilled gas or fumes. The 17-pound Ion 40V Electric Ice Auger features a 40V lithium-ion battery and can drill through up to 2,000 inches of ice on a single charge.

It includes a battery charger and re-charges in just a few hours. Bicycle-style handlebars allow for comfortable drilling, while special blades engineered for a super-smooth cut mean that there’s no jagged ice at the bottom of your hole. Consequently, your line is less likely to fray and break while landing a big catch. Use the reverse button to flush the slush from your newly-drilled hole.

Elderberry appears to have few side effects when used properly for short periods of time (up to 5 days). Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not take elderberry. If you have an autoimmune disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus, ask your doctor before taking elderberry, as it may stimulate the immune system.

Vitamins and minerals

Elderberry gummies contain vitamins A and C, which provide immune support and antioxidants. Zinc and echinacea are also popular in elderberry gummies, as they both provide even more of an immune system boost. Calcium and magnesium are common as well; they promote overall bone and heart health.
