Posted in BELIEVE IN GOD BUT NOT IN RELIGIONS? on 2002-12-02 15:20:27

========== In Reply To ========== I am a minister and yes I can answer your question. You are 100% correct, the Bible does not teach about religion. In fact, Christianity has NOTHING to do with religion, it has to do with a relationship...with God. Religion is man's attempt to REACH UP to God...hoping to get to heaven by "being good enough." Christianity is about God REACHING DOWN to humanity and offering salvation by faith NOT by good deeds. That is the common misconception about Christianity is "be good, go to heaven." The Bible teaches that "there is none who does good, no not one" Romans 3:12 and that "ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23. In fact the Bible says our "good deeds" are as "filthy rags." We can't earn heaven, it is a gift given to those who would receive it by faith that's Ephesians 2:8-10. Like I said, religion is man's attempt to reach God...the Bible has nothing to do with this because Christianity is about God reaching out to man.

My god minister!!! you want to make us believe that Christianity is not a religion????......OF Course it is!!!, and christians practice every little thing that ALL religions practice. Think about it for a moment please and don't respond out of your first impulses and what "they have tought you". Christianity IS a religion because Christians are taught to practice all the things that people in every religion practice, don't just tell me your "reaching down for humanity" argument, give me "facts" to prove me that christianity doesnt have an organization, very similar principles and works exactly as every religion known on earth.
