I have to have something behind me. A stuffed animal, a bunched up blanket, a pillow... SOMETHING has to be touching my back at all times until I'm asleep. My dad made fun of me once because I was fourteen (I'm fifteen now) and I slept with a teddy bear behind me, but he didn't know that I need something behind me. If I don't have something, I get this deistinct feeling that something or someone is behind me and I can't sleep.

I was in kindergarten (in Iowa) when it all went down. The superintendant called two different assemblies (one for elementary, one for Jr./Sr. High). I don't really remember what he said, but I do know that I didn't understand. All I really gleaned was that his daughter had been in an accident (she was in one of the towers, but got out safely). I didn't understand until a few years later what had happened. How do tell a bunch of kindergarteners that someone hates them because of where they're from? How do you explain to them that some great $%!@ hat just killed thousands of people because they were in America?
