Yes, but the statistics I cited pertain to candidates seeking a third term extension of their parties rule. Re-election is nothing special; the incumbent president has an enormous advantage when seeking re-election. But for a new candidate of the same party seeking an extension of the same politics, is a whole nother ball game. Also, it happened 4 years to late, but America IS waking up from its national stupor...I hope.

Is there any religion that's not anti-gay? The 3 Abrahamic religions certainly are. You should be just as wary of Christians and Jews, if homophobia is your concern.

Indeed. Pander, pander, pander.

Like I said in another thread, there is a lot working against McCain: bad economy, unpopular war, unpopular president, and he's seeking a third-term extension of the politics Americans are so fed up with. The odds against him are virtually insurmountable. Americans have a habit of changing administrative parties every 8 years or so. Third term party candidates are very rare. Bush Sr. could only pull it off because of the economic boom of the late 80s. I just can't fathom the possibility that Americans are going to say, yep, more of the same please! Roosevelt, well, WW2 wasn't 'popular' but everyone knew it had to be fought, unlike the current OPTIONAL war in Iraq.

I'll go on the record and say if Obama can't win this, then the Democrats don't deserve to exist as a party.

Well, then you don't really believe in free speech, do you?
