Even if we assume for the sake of argument that Genesis is true, that story clearly depicts an imperfect God.
i.e., Even within the fictional 'reality' of the Bible, the character 'God' is not a perfect being.

I know what you mean, but our common ancestor with a monkey was almost certainly a monkey (rather than an ape) or at least very monkey-like, and would probably be classified as a Catarrhine monkey by modern zoologists therefore, we did 'evolve from monkeys.'
