Posted in Kilts for guys? on 2009-01-16 21:30:04

All kilts are skirts by definition, but not all skirts are kilts. A kilt is a subdivision of the broad 'skirt' category, being a skirt of Scottish origin designed for men. Using the dog example above- all dogs are quadrupeds, but not all quadrupeds are dogs.

I always imagine evangelical types (usually American, it has to be said) shouting about how we're all going to hell for eternity unless we repent etc and follow their particular interpretation of their particular 'holy' book. Yet when atheists say 'god is imaginary' and actuall supply reasons why, it's considered to be not politically correct and intolerant. Seems a bit one-sided to me.

Exactly. The only times it should be done is if there is an actual reason to do so, not 'my god demands it' or 'I don't like it anymore' etc. If it is affecting the proper functioning of the $%!@, that is the only time it should be removed imho

No offense to you mate, but I find the reasons you suggest are a bit shaky. Consider what you intend to do- cut off a part of your body. If everyone else had their little finger cut off, would you do it as well just to be the same?

Being American has nothing to do with whether or not your privates are mutilated. That's generally a religous custom. Being uncircumcised is no less hygenic if you roll it back and wash it properly. If you ask me, unless there is some medical reason to do so (half of these don't actually require circumcision) there is absolutely no reason to cut it off. I don't believe in god, so my reasoning is that it's unnecessary and defies logic. If you do believe in a god, surely it's better to leave things the way god made them?

'Yeah, I know that "water" is one of those wierd esoteric things that some of us freaks out here in California are into these days, but you should try it out sometime. Especially the vegan, gluten free, fat free, no carb, unscented kind.'

Did you know that most bottled and tap water contains significant levels of dihydrogen monoxide? This chemical- which is a major component of acid rain- is often used in industry as a solvent and coolant, and as such is being dumped (quite legally) into lakes and rivers worldwide, to the extent that it has even been found in antarctic ice. There are a huge amount of cases of people dying due to inhaling small amounts of liquid DHMO, and in its solid form can cause severe tissue damage. Lobby your water supplier to remove this chemical!

disclaimer: 'dihydrogen monoxide' is harmless, being the chemical term for ordinary H2O. This has been a free demonstration of 'people will believe anything' courtesy of Pete. However, everything in this post is actually true and accurate
