That's right, kjvonly! Being saved isn't necessarily a matter of using your talents for God or spreading the word of God or things like that, even though those are great things to do. There are many people who have done great things, and in the name of God, too, who never make it to heaven because they didn't do the simplest thing; accept Jesus.

So, whoever was saying that they probably weren't among the saved, if you don't think you're good enough to get into Heaven, let me let you in on something. You're not! Neither am I, and neither is anyone on this planet right now. And that's the problem that Jesus fixed for us! You don't have to be good enough to get into Heaven because you can't be! What you have to do is accept Jesus and realize that He wasn't just a good man, He was the son of God who was sent to die for you. He was %100 God and %100 man, He never sinned, and he took the biggest beating that any man has ever taken, just for you! He's always chasing after you and He wants you to know that all you need to do is accept His gift. If you do that (or maybe you already have), THEN you can worry about using your gifts and talents for the Lord! And even when you fall short, and everyone does, you won't have to worry about losing your salvation! Ever! That's why Christians say that they KNOW they are going to Heaven, because they KNOW that they aren't and never will be good enough to get in on their own, and they have to have Jesus, and they KNOW that they do!

I respect your opinion, but don't you think that's a bit harsh and dehumanizing? Not going to listen to me because I'm Christian? Non-Christians make some pretty good points and even discoveries sometimes, and I certainly don't ignore them just because they're different. Just some food for thought.

Very good argument. . I think you are right, we use the words Father, Him, and other such words depicting a male to help us understand the uncomprehendable. I don't believe God has a gender, but we say He because it's better than saying It. . Also, the Lord came to this earth as Jesus, a MALE human being, so this is another likely reason we refer to Him as a male. . We call Him the Father because that is what He is to a Christian, and to call Him the Mother or anything else would contradict saying He and Him, thus confusing the matter. . It is kind of like the words Man and Mankind. The words sound masculine, but they are actually reffering to all of the human race, INCLUDING the women. . God Bless, . My Xanga Link

I don't really believe it to be wrong, but I will say that I don't agree with the kids not being allowed to have bf/gf relationships. I don't think that's really the church's business, to tell you the truth. I will admit that some of the people, even Christin people, who have those relationships abuse a lot of things, but on the flip side there are people (myself being one of them) who DO date responsibly, as I like to call it. I think that decision should be left to the individual, but, that's nothing more than my own opinion. Personally, I don't like decisions being made against me because other people fowl up their lives. I like being able to make my own decision based on who I am, not being forced into a decision because other people make poor decisions. . as for thinking it's weird/wrong that you go to church every Sunday and Wednesday, of coarse not. I'm a Christian (babtist) and I do my best to be at church whenever I can, so, I don't see anything wrong with that. . Anyway, just my opinions. . God Bless, . God's Bass Player . My Xanga Link
