ADULT: OFF HOME DIRECTORY SEARCH RANDOM POLL MAKE A POLL

For Adult Women Who Smoke

This poll is only for women age 18 and over who smoke cigarettes (the tobacco kind only please). As a female smoker myself, I thought it would be interesting to see how our preferences compare. And to help with this, for each question I put (me) after what my response would be. If you are a guy, a nonsmoker or under 18, please don't take the poll, but feel free to look at the results and leave a message if the spirit moves you.
OK, before we dig in -- you ARE a female over 18 who smokes cigarettes, right?
Duh, yeah. I'm smart enough to read and understand the introduction. Geez.

1 1/2 to 2 packs a day
2 to 3 packs a day
Over 3 packs a day (Damn, gal! Are your lungs made of cast iron?)
How would you describe your smoking "personality?"
I'm a defiant rebel. I'll light up whenever and wherever I please, including non-smoking areas and around people who object.
I make no apologies for my habit, and I freely smoke when and where I want to. But I do respect non-smoking areas and people sensitive to tobacco smoke, and in those situations I will either not smoke or go someplace where I can. (me)
I feel a little self-conscious about smoking. I do smoke in public but I keep a low profile with it.
I feel quite self-conscious about smoking. I only smoke in private when I'm alone, or around family or close friends.
I feel very self-conscious about smoking. While others do know that I smoke, I only smoke in private when I'm alone.
I'm over the edge with self-conscious. I'm a very private "closet" smoker; no one else in the whole world knows I smoke, and I go to great lengths to keep it that way.
So what's the main reason you started smoking?
I was just curious to see what it was like. Tried it, liked it, and the rest is history. (me)
Most or all of my family smoked, so it just seemed natural that I should too.
Most or all of my friends smoked, so it just seemed natural that I should too.
My spouse/significant other smoked and he encouraged me to start.
My spouse/significant other smoked; he didn't encourage me, but I looked up to him a lot and wanted to smoke to be more like him.
I thought smoking would make me look and feel cool.
I thought smoking would make me look and feel sexy.
I thought smoking would make me look and feel grown up and mature.
I had a rebellious streak, and I thought smoking would enhance that image.
Some other reason (please fill in the blank)
Besides your main reason, is there anything else that factored into your decision to smoke? Check all that apply.

How does your spouse/s.o. feel about your smoking?
He loves it
It's not up to a fetish level with him, but he likes it pretty well (me)
He doesn't care whether I smoke or not, it's a non-issue with him either way
He doesn't really like it, but he respects it as a part of who I am, so he doesn't get on me much about it.
He hates that I smoke and never misses an opportunity to point that out.
He doesn't know I smoke.
I don't have a spouse/s.o.
What is your experience with cigars? (again, the tobacco kind only)
I smoke them regularly, in between cigarettes
I smoke a cigar occasionally, when the mood hits me
I smoke a cigar rarely, only for special celebrations, certain holidays, etc. (me)
I have tried cigars, but they're not for me.
I have never smoked a cigar but would like to try it, and definitely will someday.
I have never smoked a cigar but I'm curious about it and may try one someday.
I have never smoked a cigar and have no intention of ever doing so.
I used to be into cigars (whether regularly, occasionally or rarely) but have given them up, and just stick with cigarettes now.
What is your experience with electronic cigarettes (ecigs)?
I smoke them regularly, in between cigarettes
I only smoke them when having a "real" cigarette is not allowed or possible
I have tried ecigs, but they are not for me. (me)
I have never smoked an ecig but I like the idea and will definitely try one someday
I have never smoked an ecig and am considering trying it to see what it's like
I have never smoked an ecig, and have no intention of doing so
I have never heard of ecigs. What the hell is an ecig?
Suppose your daughter, age 12-14, told you that she has tried a cigarette, liked it, and wants to be a smoker. What would you say to her?
"Well, it's about time! What took you so long? Here, let me light one for you."
"It's your decision, and from my own experience at your age, I know better than to try to stop you. But first, let's have a long, adult-level conversation about addiction and the health risks, and if you promise me that you'll honestly take those into consideration in a mature way, I'll go along with whatever you decide."
"You're too young to smoke. If you wait a few years and still want to when you're older, I won't object." (me)
"I don't want you to smoke, ever. But if you do, you will not smoke around me."
"Over my cold dead body will you smoke. And if I find out that you are, the consequences will be swift and severe."
Another response (fill in the blank)
Have you ever tried, or considering trying, to quit smoking?
Nope. In spite of the addiction and health risks, I enjoy smoking way too much to ever give it up.
No. I would like to quit, but I've heard so many horror stories about withdrawal and such, I don't want to try for fear of failure.
No. Even though I could probably overcome physical nicotine withdrawal if I really put my mind to it, I don't think I could ever shake my psychological enjoyment of smoking. And to be honest, I'm not sure I want to, because on some deep-seated level, my "need" to smoke goes beyond physical addiction. (me)
I have made some efforts to quit, but since I'm taking this poll, they obviously didn't work. :(
Oh God, have I tried! I've failed so many times, I'm disgusted with the whole thing, and have quit trying to quit!
Any other quitting options I left out? Please fill in the blank.
OK, thanks for hanging in there! You finally made it to the last question, so here goes: Looking back, if you could go back in time to just before you started smoking, and (this is important) knowing what you know now -- would you still take up smoking?
Absolutely. I have no regrets about starting to smoke and would do it again in a heartbeat.
Hmmm. I'd have to think long and hard about that one. But in all honesty, my gut reaction is that I probably would do it again. (me)
Hmmm. I'd have to think long and hard about that one. But my gut reaction is that I most likely would not do it again.
No way. Starting to smoke is the stupidest thing I have ever done, and if I had a chance at a do-over, I wouldn't even go near that first cigarette.
Any other scenarios? Please fill in the blank
