Flight 3079

A teenager strapping Jewish religious ritual prayer boxes to his head and arm caused a scare on a plane from New York to Kentucky this morning, prompting the pilot to land in Philadelphia. Authorities determined there was no threat and the 17-year-old boy and his 16-year-old sister, who live in White Plains, N.Y., were not held.

Please select the response which best represents your opinion of the flight crew’s actions.

6% (5) Good for them. These days you can never be too careful.
5% (4) They really should have known better. But I guess I can’t blame them.
18% (14) They should have just talked to the kid to see if he was a threat and accepted the children's response. They were wrong.
5% (4) They acted improperly. Just because they didn’t know what he was doing doesn’t mean they should suspect terrorism.
52% (40) What kind of idiots don’t know what a Tefillin is? Yokels like these are what's wrong with America!
11% (9) It’s the kid’s own fault. The crew was just being responsible.
