Summer Menu

The Colored Section is a celebration of taste… and the blending of color. A Fusion of cuisines from around the globe to create a menu that stirs the richness of diversity, while embracing the one thing that binds us all together… The love of food. The Colored Section segregates itself by not being afraid to mix fresh ingredients and bold flavors that are new and different… remaining affordable without sacrificing quality… because we all should have the equal right, to enjoy a wonderful meal! At The Colored Section we recognize that one of our greatest rights is to vote... the ability for our voices to be heard. So, instead of just forcing a menu down your throat. We have decided that we only want to serve what the people want to eat... Power to The People! So here's your chance to be heard. There are seven items on the poll... only five can make it to the menu for this round... so take your time... visualize your meal... and vote!!!
Pan-Fried Turkey Chops- Never has the pork chop been so jealous. Turkey cutlets dredged in flour and Italian bread crumbs, and then pan-fried with Vidalia onions until golden and tender. Served with our sweet potato mash and a side of grilled corn… you know the kind that’s been grilled with the husk on and dipped in our garlic herb butter. A couple of pieces of corn bread, and its Thanksgiving all year round!

Jerk Chicken Rolls- I have never been to Jamaica but I embrace the tastes and the smoke… I mean, the culture. And I created this one night when I was partaking in the… culture. Boneless chicken breast marinated in jerk spices, grilled over an open flame, and glazed with a spicy rum flavored bar-be-que sauce. Chopped and mixed with four cheeses and fresh jalapeno peppers; rolled in handmade flour tortillas, and fried until golden. Served with salsa, ranch dipping sauce, and blackberry colli. Roots Rock!

Tres Empanada- I know it sounds mad complicated, but we don’t want you to miss out on such a fantastic dish just because you don’t know what it means. So, let’s make it simple. Tres is Spanish for 3 and Empanada means fried bread. So, basically what you have is 3 different kinds of fried bread. Sounds interesting… Well, we’ve taken puff pastry dough and stuffed them 3 different ways…Spicy turkey sausage, Yukon gold potatoes, with asiago cheese…Marinated Steak, portabella mushrooms, with our Italian cheese blend…and tender chicken breast, broccoli, with cheddar cheese.. Try them individually or mix them up… either way…Delicious! Who cares if we cain’t properly pronounce the name!

The Infamous Jive Turkey Burger- I like ground chuck just as much as the next man. But what if I told you that I can give you a turkey burger with more flavor… you’d probably think I was jiving. Well, check this out, Cat: we take fresh ground turkey and season it Creole style, stuff it with fresh finely diced jalapenos, Gouda cheese, and turkey sausage. Grilled and served with lettuce, tomato, dill pickles, and our maple mustard sauce… Nooo, Brotha, you gotta get your own!

Tilapia Taco- This is where South of the Border and The Southside collide! We’ve taken crispy, flaky tilapia filets, fried them golden brown, and wrapped them in a warm grilled flour tortilla. Topped with pico de gaello, shredded cheese, romaine lettuce, and our spicy tarter sauce… Caliente, Kinfolk!

Crab Cakes and Fried Green Tomatoes- Some combinations are dangerous…And I mean that in the most positive way possible… you know, like bad meaning good. Okay, so are we together? Well, what about putting together fresh crab meat, pan-fried- and placed on top of our buttermilk parmesan fried green tomatoes. Splashed with our warm Louisiana remoulade… Dangerous! You get it now?

ATL Brisket and Cheese- I am a huge of the Philly Cheesesteak! My favorite is from a spot off of Broad in North Philly called Max’s. It’s so good in fact that I don’t think that it can be duplicated properly, anywhere. Besides this is The Mighty, Mighty ATL and we need our own sandwich, anyway! So, we’ve marinated a hunk of brisket for 24 hours, smoked it for another 8 hours, sliced it razor thin, and then piled it onto a fresh sour dough bun, lined with pepper jack cheese. Topped with our secret cheese sauce… I don’t know… This could be the big one!
