travel subsidies for NHS emergency patients UK

Hi. I want to gather some feedback regarding peoples experiences with NHS care in the UK. And how people would feel about a possible subsidy(spelling?) service that the government could help pay for transport back to patients homes if(as is usually the case) an ambulance is unavailable.
