That's a bunch of crap. Santa Calause first appeared in the 1840's, and the Coca-Cola Santa campaigns began in the mid-20th Century.

Hmmmm... not too sure about all that above. St. Nick, Kris Kringle... they're all the same. Just different versions of each other like other popular myths.

Like religions, Ra, Zeus, Jehovah, Jah, Yahwey, Allah... all different versions of the same with slight variations.

The current version or image of Santa may have been popularized most recently by Coca-Cola, but that doesn't mean it was created by the company... I find a more interesting legend to be that Coca-Cola first got it's name from Cocaine; as in it used to have cocaine in it.

coka cola supposedley changed santa's suit to red when they used him in a christmastime coke promotion.

To clarify, Santa Claus wore green clothes but as Coca Cola uses the colour red for promotions, that was the clolour of Santa's suit. The colour then stuck.
