I agree with Music412. I'll tell ya why, in the Bible God gives us instructions for the punishments for certain sins. The punishment for stealing was restitution four-fold. the punishment for murder was death. That's what God says, leading to the conclusion that not all sins are equal, HOWEVER, God still hates sin, no matter how small, and cannot allow it into heaven, which is perfect in every aspect. That is why He sent Jesus to suffer and die in our place, to atone for our sins, big and small. If you turn to Him, He will grant you everlasting life in heaven with Him. This is the gospel.

I've presented my side, you can believe me or not believe me. Let's just agree to disagree, OK? Not trying to be mean or anything, but this will go on forever if i let it. thanx! :)

yes, i can quote you chapter and verse. Matthew 5:27-28. "You have heard that it was said, 'YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY'; but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Matthew 12:36 "But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment."

I put this verse in just to illustrate the fact that God will not just judge our actions, but our words and our thoughts as well. And yes, that is true that i don't want to disobey God by committing adultery. As i mentioned, our sinful nature does. And yes, it is also the result of hormones, i.e. puberty. but i CAN help it. so can all of us. You try it sometime, when you are tempted to lust after someone, resist it. just look away and tell yourself, no i will not do it. It really is possible to resist, i know from experience, because i always try not to. (Well, to be perfectly honest, most of the time) :) anyway, that's all i have to say for now.

again, everything you said is true. and yes, it is sin to lust after someone you are not married to, fiance or not. as i said, it is the desire to have sex before marriage, which God explicitly commands us not to do. Every one of us has that desire because of our sinful nature. That includes me. and everyone else. The reason lust is sin is because God sees our thoughts and He knows them all. He sees that to be as bad as the action, because if it weren't for our conscience (or our sense of right and wrong, which, by the way, God also gave to us), then we would. That is why He judges lust. Now lust (and also, sex) is fine when exercised within the perameters which God laid out for us in His Word i.e. within the bonds of marriage.

thanks for your comments. the reason i like to separate them is because for one thing, not all Catholics are Christian, and not all Christians are Catholic. I'm not saying they're ALL that way, but ya know what i mean. the two have some very different belief systems as well. That's all. so i always separate them for that reason. that way i know better where you're coming from, if ya know what i mean. so yeah. thanks again for your suggestion tho! :)
