US. Gas Tax Idea

This is a biased poll, as the Fed Gas Tax is not $2 a gallon. It is exactly 18.4 cents a gallon. Any additional taxes are state and local taxes; they won't be changed by any Fed action.
The gas tax is also a "dedicated" tax. Taxes collected are only used for road, bridge, and public transit projects. The more you drive, the more damage you do to the roads and bridges, the more gas you use, the more tax you pay, the more money is there for road and bridge repairs.

The Red Sox have made 4 World Series since 1918 (1946, 1967, 1975, and 1986). However they have lost each of those 4 times (each in 7 games no less). It has been since 1918 that they have WON the World Series.
