It was suggested by the administrator of the Abundance Magazine website.

Personally, I kinda like it. Pays homage to the ancient fertility figures of the ice age.

I certainly prefer my girl to be like an earth goddess (which in my mind is not fat at all) and bountiful (which in my opinion doesn't imply fat either), but you seem to have made this category stand for "fat."

If you look at images of earth goddesses from history you'll see that they are generally of larger proportions.

I think that overeuphimizing things may have slanted your results. Women that are too slender and willowy (which is what most women aspire to) aren't attractive, but neither are fat women.

Again I must stress that this poll is for fun, and not expected to produce scientific results. But I think that more people are voting based on how their personal preferences jive with the pictures supplied for each category, rather than the adjectives which accompany them.

========== In Reply To ========== "This is directly addressed to the makers of this poll: Use Check boxes, you missed several important combinations of possibilities (A&C,B&E,etc...) please remake the poll"

Hi James,

I appreciate your concerns with the poll. :^)

I am certainly aware that only a few of the many possible combinations of choices are presented in the current poll. I set it up to accomodate the broadest possible combination of choices since obviously, with the way the voting is set up now, offering the full number of permutations would be overwhelming.

Your suggestion of using checkboxes for each letter is interesting, but I don't believe the polling software would recognize that you were voting for a category of combinations called "A and C" or "A, C, and E" etc and list the results accordingly. I believe it would more likely just tally votes cast for A, B, C, D, and E separately, which wouldn't tell me what I wanted to know. (Namely, whether or not people appreciate more than one body size/shape.)

I may look into redesigning the poll in the future if I can ever find a free polling service which offers enough answer slots to accomodate every single possible combination of choices for each age and gender group. (In fact, I would be interested in breaking the groups down by decade or even 5 year increments to get a better sense of the difference in generational preferences.) The new service would also have to correct for the problems I have encountered with the current service. The totals never seems to add up to 100% and people are able to vote multiple times.

But do keep in mind that no matter how I rearrange the voting options this poll will never be "accurate," as was discussed in the "not scientific" thread below. It exists purely for whimsy's sake. :^)
