========== In Reply To ========== Yeah i got Joe DiMaggio and Lou Gehrig mixed up. Although I have to say Jackie Robinson certaintly did not play 1st base his rookie year he played shortstop, i dont think he would have won rookie of the year in both leagues if he were a 1st baseman. And Dennis Eckersley was an above-average starting pitcher AND closer, but definitely not the best closer ever...if u look in the record books Lee Smith has the most career saves..even on a $%!@ty team.
