As it stands the laws in most places are disproportionately established against women because of antiquated puritanical views. Just about anywhere in the US if a man and a woman were both walking down a sidewalk topless, somebody could complain to the police and the police could come along and order the woman to put her top back on under threats of fines and/or arrest while the man goes completely untouched. This happens because the chest/breasts of the woman happen to be on a female and this law even applies when the woman is flat-chested and the man has huge man-boobs. This is an extremely discriminatory and unconstitutional sort of law that should be repealed nationwide. Female topfreedom should be legal in the US and women and girls should no longer be forced, coerced, and shamed into hiding what they have by nature just because someone says so. (BTW, I'm a male and fully support equality, freedom, and personal liberties.)

I've been a nude sleeper since 1995. I'd been trying out nudism for several years so giving up sleep clothes was a natural transition. I was fed up with having tight, binding, twisted pajamas every night, and the few times I'd slept nude before then were very comfortable. So, one day I just decided to call it quits on sleeping in any kind of clothing and started sleeping nude full time, and have done so ever since. It is always far more comfortable and allows for better temperature control.

The only time I've shared a bed with another guy since very young childhood was last year when we were at a convention and I couldn't get a room with two beds. The best we could get was a single king bed. He's my best friend and we've been roomies for years. Since I'm a nudist he's totally used to my nudity, and I've been a nude sleeper since 1995. He wears only a shirt when he sleeps. Everything was as ordinary as any other time we've shared a hotel room with two beds, difference being we were in the same bed. I think he woke me up snoring once. That's all I remember happening.

The ideal ruling in this case should have been that (1) the funeral protesters had the 1st amendment free speech rights to make their protest no matter how offensive their message is, AND (2) that 1st amendment right does not protect or exempt them from being sued by families and other mourners at the funerals who were negatively affected and traumatized by the protests in mental and emotional ways. Basically, you're free to say what you want but you will be accountable for what you say.

I still wouldn't call that pressure. "Pressure" implies force, coercion, or lack of free choice. If you'd threatened punishment if they didn't go nude to save their clothes, that would be pressure. If you'd degraded and made fun of them for not going nude, that would be pressure. But instead you laid out practical terms, both a responsibility whether a budget or a personal chore (laundry), and left each daughter with the free choice to follow the path that worked best for her. The one daughter chose frugality and wise expenditures, which resulted in the more practical nudity instead of wearing out clothing. The other daughter chose to work smarter, not harder, by being nude for her grime-generating artistic hobby and saving her clothes from excess laundering, stains, and wear (not to mention savings in time, energy, resources, etc.).

In my opinion you're doing a great service to your kids by raising them to view nudity as natural as well as practical. The swimwear industry is close to a billion dollar a year industry, and instead of buying something as pointless as swimsuits, which really serve no purpose, they prefer to skinnydip. Instead of having the mentality of nudity being titillating and sexually exciting, or embarrassing and shameful, they view it as perfectly normal and natural and instead place the erotic enhancement on clothing. I wish my parents had been as practical and open-minded as you.
