Yes. There is a British version and there is the version in which the person gets pulled apart by four steeds. This British version is where they hang the person and then they slice his/her head off. I honestly do not remeber how it goes exactly.

Hanging is especially curel and unusual. It is only used on war criminals, from what I hear.
