Great to see that an increasing percentage of women is bringing home the bacon and leading the family ! And that men lovingly support it, staying at home and raising the children! Women (resp. girls) are scoring much better today in all fields of education, leaving the boys far behind. In consequence they will get the better paid and more responsible jobs in future. I would not mind to see women in control in our future society. If they are better skilled for a modern society, they should rule. My wife is wearing the pants in the relationship, and we are both happy with it. When ín the near future I´ll retire from work while she still has to work for some time, we have decided already: A working woman needs a male housewife at home. I´ll completely take over the housechores. And we will be proud to show the outside world that in our case the wife is head of the family.

I fully agree with ohjayhi: It is time to abolish oldfashioned traditions. Men should be ready to take their wife´s last name in the marriage. When we married 12 years ago my wife took my last name. We would have liked to do it the other way round but were afraid of friends´ and family´s reaction. We regretted afterwards. Being asked again today I would wholeheartedly agree and be proud to take my wife´s last name in the marriage, to show that I belong to her (not being "owned") and how much I love her. In a society of equality there should be as many men taking their wife´s name as there are women taking his one. I personally would not mind if it became a general (mainstream) practice that the woman´s name is taken as common family name. Anyone afraid to show that she is the head of the family ?

Girls/women are scoring much better in all fields of education today, leaving their male contemporaries far behind. In consequence they will get the better paid and more reponsible jobs in future. There is a tremendous change going on, an accelerating process. In future women will be our main or even sole breadwinners, with their men staying at home, doing the housechores and raising the kids. Husbands will take their wives´last names, confessing she is leading the family. Our women will wear the pants, and maybe one day men will start to wear skirts and dresses, matching the more "feminine" role in the relationship. I am sure our top leaders in politics, economy, cultural and social life will be female. Helping to unfold female intellectual power and guidance matriarchy will be a great progress in our future society. I would not mind it - the sooner the better ! In our marriage my wife is in control, and we are both very happy with it. When females are confidently turning the tables, men should lovingly support it.

Beauty should not be reserved to one sex only. I am the one who is wearing skirts and dresses nearly full time at home, leaving the pants to my wife. We are both happy with it. If you accept the equality of the two sexes (-perhaps there are even more than two?-) and if we have got accustomed to women wearing trousers, we should also accept men wearing skirts and dresses. All of us have been born with both male and female traits in their character. Why should n´t men, if they feel so, be allowed to wear women´s clothes while women in male clothes are widely accepted ?

A gender reversal day at school is a good idea to teach both girls and boys what it means to take the other´s shoe. Swapping clothes should not only be allowed on those special days but accepted in general for everybody who just feels like that. It could help to promote the empowerment of women and help men (not everybody!) to embrace their inner femininity. If our future is female in the 21st century, the outcome may well be that one day sooner or later women wil wear the pants and men become attractive in skirts and dresses. A lovely perspective !
