Hi Daisy!!
Awww...your little boys sound so adorable!! I bet right now you are getting blown away with snow (when you filled out the poll, you indicated you lived in Virginia or Maryland, and they are getting so much snow it's incredible). I heard in Washington DC and Baltimore, Maryland, they got as much as 28 inches of snow!!! If your electricity is out, you might not be able to even respond for awhile...lol. I am from the San Francisco Bay Area of California, but I'm thinking of moving to somewhere around Asheville, North Carolina, maybe somewhere around Rutherford County or maybe Jackson County (where Western Carolina University is, over by Sylva, NC). People are much nicer in the Carolinas, and it's important for me to have that small town feeling, for neighbors to look after each other, especially with the fact I am autistic and in many ways, like a 4 or 5 year old. I was diagnosed with Asperger's too originally, but I now think I have classic Autism because I didn't talk till I was 4 years old chronologically, and also all the people I know who are Aspie are emotionally and socially more like 15 or 16 year olds. Are your kids Autistic too, or just you that is aspie?
Here's my take on how little boys should be dressed...exactly like little boys. I have a friend from Greenville, North Carolina that has 2 children. One is 6 years old and the other is 11 years old. Her 6 year old, Caroline, wears a size 12 toddler shoe right now. She bought 2 pairs of Foot Traits English sandals from me 1 year ago, when her daughter was 5. Now she's outgrown it, and my friend (her name is Anne Marie) wants a bigger size. Unfortunately, I don't have any bigger ones. I bought about 70 pairs of English sandals (I have two brands: Foot Traits and Fleet Air) from a Chestertown, Maryland shoe store about 3 years ago. Well, I've sold about 28 so far on EBay. My biggest one I have left is a size 12. Most shoe companies stopped making English sandals beyond a size 12. A few made them from size 12 to 3 growing girls, but that was rare. Anyway, Anne Marie told me this regarding longalls for boys and dresses for girls: "I don't see why I need to buy Caroline a pair of shorts that say 'Juicy' on the rump?? Why do I want anyone thinking my 6 year old's behind is juicy???". That's sick. Parents here in the West Coast don't even dress their children going to church!! Adults don't even dress themselves up, let alone their children. It's truly sad. I'm glad there's still companies that make traditional smocked longalls for toddler boys and smocked bishop dresses for toddler girls. Thank God and bless companies like Kelly's Kids, Beaux Et Belles, Mulberry St., Bailey Boys, Petit Ami, Just Ducky Originals, Wish Upon A Star, Hollywood Baby, Chez Ami/Patsy Aiken, and others who make traditional longalls for little boys and smocked dresses for girls!!
Where are you from in Maryland or Virginia? Just wondering, because people in the western part of Virginia (ie. Lynchburg, Roanoke, Charlottesville, Blacksburg, Lexington) tend to be more conservative than near Washington DC and so they tend to also dress their children more conservatively or traditionally. You have a 3 year old that wears longalls and T-strap shoes on a daily basis? Wow, that's interesting. A lot of parents down in South Carolina and North Carolina, if they do dress up their little boys in T-straps and longalls, a lot of them do it only for going to church. There's not quite as many that wear it as an everyday outfit. You asked me how do I feel about boys ages 5-7 years old that wear short pants and knee socks for dress?? Well, you ask me, I think a 5 or 6 year old boy might look better wearing longalls than short pants with knee socks. The problem is, most of the companies I named including Kelly's Kids, do not make longalls above a size 5T or 6 at most. I think I've seen some longalls by Anavini in size 7 or so. Even when I was growing up as a toddler and little boy here in California, I never saw any little boys wearing longalls or jon jons and definitely not T-strap Mary Janes, or English sandal shoes. Actually, if you really want to know, I think actually they should make longalls for adults!! LOL. In fact, there's this one lady from South Carolina on EBay who actually offered to make me an adult pair of longalls for me (she's from York, SC). She also said that she's had several people ask her to make an adult one for them, but she turned them all down so far. Since she offered to make me one, I said sure!! Except it will cost me probably $127 with an applique and monogramming. Stride Rite and all the other shoe companies in the 1980s should have made T-straps/English sandals for adult men and women too, exactly like the child sized ones!! But I don't think hardly any companies did. Does your 5 year old son hate wearing English sandals? Some little boys when they are 5 and 6 years old don't like it because it looks too "babyish" to them, so just wondering.
I have quite a few photos of little boys back from the 1980s and 1970s wearing longalls with T-straps or English sandals that I would love to share with you! I would also love to share some photos of some of the longalls in my collection and some of the shoes that I have. I"m sure you'd love to see them, they are very adorable if I say so myself. And, if you have any photos of your little boys wearing longalls with T-straps, I would love to see them if you can scan them or find them and email me them!!! There's nothing more adorable than a little boy wearing longalls and T-strap shoes/English sandals. If you look at some photos of JFK Jr. from 1964 (1 year after his great father JFK got assassinated), he too wore English sandals at age 4. And Prince William and Prince Harry also wore Mary Janes and T-straps as toddlers/little boys.
So anyway, if you have any photos of either of your boys wearing T-straps or English sandals while wearing longalls/jon jons, I would more than LOVE to see them!! It's been quite a while since I've seen any...the ones I've seen are old photos from the 1980s or 1970s from places like Flickr, or old parenting magazines from the 1990s/1980s/1970s. I never even realized little boys could wear T-strap shoes or English sandals till I was in college at age 20, when I found old parenting magazines at my university library, and saw some photos of little boys wearing them. Growing up, I only saw little girls wear them, so I always thought they were only for girls, until I saw old photos!! Little boys even as far back as the 1950s wore them, and even Mary Janes as far back as 1900. I didn't even realize that you left a message here until I looked carefully, because no one has ever left a mesage!! LOL.

And excuse me for writing so much, I tend to write a lot. I also talk as much as I write...I could easily outbeat a 4 year old in talking. I talk a mile a minute :-)
Take care and have a good day!! Happy snow playing!! :) BTW, I'm 33 years old.
Warm regards

Hi Misterpoll,
my poll was again listed under "General Interests". I decided to change some things, and put it back into the review queue. I think this poll really does belong in the "Limited Interests" category, so isn't there any way you can put it into the "Limited Interests" category. I don't want to give up on attempting to get this into Limited Interest category but with the way it is going, it seems like it will always be put into general interests. Please do something about it.
Thank you very much Codi Preston

I forgot to add two more questions to my poll: What does your little boy wear underneath his longalls, and what kind of socks does your child wear with T-strap Mary Janes or English sandals?? I just fixed the poll though just now, so you should be able to answer all my questions.
If you would like to talk in more detail about this please do write about it in the message board here, or I would love to hear about your little boys wearing T-straps and longalls. My email address is preston1632@yahoo.com. I think also parents dress their little boys very lousy here in California, with no taste. They are dressed like little adult men, as are girls. I hate it when girls wear clothes that make them look like adults!! They just look terrible.
Thanks and Merry Christmas, happy holidays!! Codi Preston (I'm from California, but I'm planning to move to Western North Carolina) 12-22-2009 9:44 PM Pacific Time
