Wouldn't you know, the week after I create this poll out comes "Ghost Rider", which doesn't screen for critics either and takes in big money ($45 million opening weekend) at the box office.

how the hell did the author of this poll come up with this theme
Just reading the news, man.
The "last straw" was when seeing that to get his new son's name, Nicholas Cage looked to a foreign land -- Krypton.
There is a pattern in the order of the answers for each question.
The first name is a "tried and true" one: a name that has been essentially continuously among the top 100 names in the US for at least the last 50 years (and usually longer) without large fluctuations in popularity over that time. (I've had to stretch this somewhat for girls' names because they tend to fluctuate in popularity much more than boys' names.)
The second name is a "20th century" name, one that was in the top 100 for at least 40 years (preferably at least 50) during the 20th century but has declined in recent years. Originally, I expected this to consist of names used up to about 1980 or so, but I hadn't reckoned with how a number of names -- especially girls' names -- have already come and gone just since then. I decided to substitute in some of these "1980s-90s" names, but put off selecting them for another day. Alas, before another day came, the poll was approved and added to the directory and started getting votes. (Misterpoll doesn't have a facility for saving polls under development without submitting them.) In the end, I decided to keep the existing vote data intact by adding these newer names in the form of new questions instead of editing existing questions as I'd intended before.
The third name is one that's currently "hot" -- in general, among the top 25 currently and often in the top 10, but uncommon to downright unknown a generation or two ago.
The fourth name is one that might be a potential candidate for a "hot" name several years from now. These required the most investigation to select, by methods such as getting "buzz" on message boards or showing steadily rising popularity in the last few years. A few have already cracked the top 100.
