I can't see it does a lot of harm to pee in the pool. Usually the water is chlorinated to disinfect it.

I didn't expect a large response to this poll and so it has turned out; 12 respondents worldwide in as many days but then women don't fart, let alone light their farts.

However, some of the responses themselves were, to me, quite unexpected and, in hindsight, perhaps I should have asked more detailed questions.

6 of the respondents wore nothing when they lit their gas and 4 wore only panties while only 2 wore what could be described as outdoor clothing, jeans and shorts. This implies that most ladies lit their gas either in a bathroom or bedroom and it would be fascinating to know which rooms were chosen and why.

It would also be interesting to know why most chose to view the flame in a mirror and only 4 viewed it directly.

The colour of the flame was as I expected with the vast majority producing blue or purple. Blue and purple are indicative of good quality methane or hydrogen. One lady produced an orange flame and another a yellow flame. This rather baffles me unless it was really a blue flame with an orange or yellow tip.

The length of the flame varied enormously from over 12 inches down to an inch. It would be very interesting to know how far beyond 12 inches our best performer in this regard managed. It would also be difficult to know whether whether any of the respondents tried again and got a different length, flame colour etc.

From the poll results, the food most popular for producing flammable gas is beans which is to be expected. I was not aware that chocolate was a highly fartogenous food and perhaps the lady concerned could e-mail me to say whether it was chocolate confectionery or drinking chocolate and what brand.

The most surprising answer of all was the one to the question "Would you light a fart in public or in a competition?" A whopping 81% (9 ladies) said "yes" even if three wanted to be paid for it. This raises all sorts of opportunities including the possibility of making serious money being filmed lighting a fart for 2 or 3 seconds.

The age range of the respondents was very wide from under 16 to over 40. If anyone cares to let me know their precise age, that would be very helpful for a more accurate analysis. It was very marked, however, that there was nobody in the 26 to 40 bracket.

The respondents were either students or professionals. This seems to indicate that other women such as those working in shops, offices and other workplaces are more conservative when it comes to lighting their fart gas.

Finally, the respondents came from all the continents of the world except Australasia. The majority came from the United States. Perhaps those who came from Mainland Europe and the one from South America could e-mail me to specify which countries they live in.

I don't know whether it is normal or not but I imagine that the hard $%!@ forces air into your intestines like a pump and when the pressure is relieved when he takes it out, the air comes out as a fart. I doubt if it smells though.
