Believe me, you'd be sickened even more if you saw the sheer volumne of mean and hateful polls that are submitted. It gets really old wading through them day in and day out. I'd have to agree with you -- high school was not this cruel when I was in it, at least not overtly.

Luckily, with our new manual review process, none of the nasty polls are making it into the directory or search anymore. Only the innocent ones make it through. Luckily there are a large number of nice school polls to balance out the sick ones.

I do sometimes wonder just how many times somebody can ask, "Who's the cutest couple in 9th grade?" It's harmless though, so we just let them have fun with it.

========== In Reply To ========== The libel, slander and defamation of character shown by high school polls is sickening and immature enough, but now they have also resorted to threats of violence and death? What the hell is wrong with teens these days?! Why all the cruelty? Are they being raised by monsters?

Jeez, I am SO glad I'm not in high school anymore (I'm 29), because it sounds like a pretty scary place! For the record, I realize that most teens are still "good kids," but it bothers me that I'm seeing more and more cruelty from them toward their peers.

BTW, thanks for banning the Bowie polls. They will NOT be missed. Heck, I wouldn't miss ANY of those ugly-hearted high school polls!

In general, I agree with you, but Bowie is being treated differently because their situation is quite different. We were contacted by the Bowie High School principal and a Texas police officer, who asked us to ban all Bowie polls from our system.

While most of the Bowie polls were similar to those of other schools, there were several that threatened violence and a few that contained death threats to teachers. Given this extreme abuse, we decided to comply with their request.

========== In Reply To ========== I was wondering where the Bowie Polls went? I had noticed that once the Westlake one's where gone, but they have them back now. So why did they all get deleted???? Who decided to do away with them???? It doesn't seem fair to all the people that spent time on them. Not to mention that Hays, Westlake, Austin High, and others still have there polls up. Don't you think if you are going to delete one, you should delete them all? The subects that Bowie used are the same that all the other schools use!!

While this isn't really an appropriate forum to discuss individual polls, I do have some info about your situation. They don't appear in the directory, but all three of your polls can be found with the search tool by searching the "Limited Interest" polls.

We do have a few spanking polls in the directory for variety, but there are sooo many of them submitted that most are classified as limited interest and can only be found through a search.

========== In Reply To ========== I'm still at a loss as to why my latest poll hasn't appeared in the directory. Are you really that backlogged with "reviewing" or what? It IS a worthwhile service you're providing - when it's available.

I agree with you two. I hate the pop-up ads, and I would completely get rid of them if I could. However, it wasn't really our decision to start carrying pop-ups.

We just signed on with DoubleClick to sell and serve our ad space. Unfortunately, that means we get whatever they serve, and we are seeing that an alarming number of those ads do contain popups.

We do have a bit of control over which ads we run, and we will be looking into using that tool to control the number of popups. I don't know how effective it will be, but it's worth a try.

Hang tight. Hopefully we can get this under control.

P.S. Thanks for your donation, Alannah!

Actually, the fetishists can still wax poetic about their favorite spanking implements. Those polls just won't end up in the directory. To be fair, we did leave a handful in, but the bulk of them are now off the beaten path.

The ones that cross into true sexual topics are now marked as adult and will only be available if we decide to offer "total access" accounts. All of the others can still be found, but only if you search in the "Limited Interest" polls.

That way, we aren't keeping the spankers (and spankees) from their polls. They just aren't being waved in the face of the general public.
