The copied polls are now history. Copy cats are lame.

========== In Reply To ========== What the hell is the point of creating identical polls to ones that already exist?. Didn't you like the results of the other ones?.

Thanks for bringing this situation to our attention. It appears there were several people copying polls, including from each other. I just went through and removed a bunch of duplicate polls, keeping the one with the earliest creation date. Most of these were in the Politics area.

I'm sure there are still other duplicates out there, but hopefully this at least caught the polls you were referring to. If you see others, please send us either the poll ID or the email address of the copycats.

Thanks! Mister Poll

Hi all,

Just wanted to drop a note in here to let you know that we will probably be a bit behind on reviewing polls during the month of July. Most of the Mister Poll crew is out of town on an extended trip. While we will be working remotely, we won't be able to keep up our normal pace. We'll do our best though.

Hang in there. The site is just resting a bit this month.

We did consider putting adult polls directly online instead of reviewing them. In the end, we decided that even those should be reviewed in the interest of keeping the general quality of the polls somewhat higher. There are still quite a few "junk" polls that people ask to have in adult categories. These would include polls that really aren't adult in nature, are poorly written, border on unintelligible, or are just plain stupid. If we didn't review them, these would go right into the adult directory and clutter things up.

We figured our users would prefer higher quality polls over a higher quantity of junky polls. If enough of you say otherwise though, we may reconsider.

We did recently changed the message areas so that the author's email address is not displayed. This was done because many people had begged for this change. I think because of the adult nature of many polls, people don't necessarily want their email addresses given out to anybody who reads a message.

So, we added the concept of a "Display Name" that would be displayed instead of the email address. People may use their email address for their display name if they choose, but I imagine that most will not.

The squeaky wheel usually gets the oil, and in this case, the people who wanted anonymous posting were quite vocal.
