Thanks for the report. I have yet to find a way for us to exclude certain ads from our site, but I have emailed our ad representative to see if it's possible or not. If it is, I'll take a look at these ads.

========== In Reply To ========== Hey, dudes,

Not to belabor this too much, but just saw this popup ad for iMatchup.com that came up one of the polls.

There's this cute brunette chick pulling on her string bikini bottoms. Only she TOPLESS! Just a square inch or two of whip cream on her boobs, with a cherie over each nipple. Ad says, ''iMatchup.com dating tip: On your first date, wear something comfy.''

Thanks for the tip. I think we have this one fixed now. Take a look and let us know if the sorting behavior still seems off.

========== In Reply To ========== Also BTW I keep seeing old polls, even polls over a year or two old, showing up in the newest sections and polls showing up out of order.

Somethings wrong there

You should all be glad to hear that your email address is no longer displayed on the polls that you create. It shows your name/handle instead and directs people to make comments in the associated message area.

Thanks for suggesting the change.

Thanks for the message. We are currently in the process of redesigning our message areas, and giving poll creators to police their own messages will absolutely be in the next revision.

I agree that in this day and age of mega spam, stalkers, and other weirdos, posting your email address on a web page is something that should be given careful consideration each time. This too, will change in the next round of updates to Mister Poll. Instead of showing a poll creator's email address, it will simply show their name or handle.

Showing the email address on polls was actually a reaction to heavy abuse by teenagers a couple of years ago. We figured that if people were required to have some level of accountability over the content of their polls, they might stop using them to demean and threaten other people. It did help that situation a bit, but it certainly wasn't a complete solution. We ended up implementing our review process to stop that for good. Now it seems that people have retreated to the message areas with their abusive behavior, but hopefully giving poll creators the ability to delete posts, ban users, etc will help that dramatically as well.

Reordering poll questions is also on the enhancement list, so expect to see that in the not so distant future. We did actually have a "Most Popular Poll of the Day" feature for awhile, so that the most popular poll was featured on the front page of the site. We ended up killing it after a few months, because invariably the most popular poll was some gem such as "Spanked while wearing full scuba gear". A hand selected "Poll of the Day" would be a much better feature, but sadly it's something we have not had time to do in the past. Perhaps we can revisit that decision when the site overhaul is complete and things are running more smoothly.

Ranger Rob,

Where are you seeing ads for Playboy? I don't believe any have been specifically placed on our site, but it's possible that they could be coming through the ad network we use. I believe we do have a small amount of control over those ads, so if that's where they are, I'll see what I can do. Please let me know where you've seen them, particularly what section of the page.

You have an interesting idea about asking a person's sex when they create an account, but I'm afraid it would suffer from the same problems that asking a person's age does. There is really no way to verify either age or sex, so the information really couldn't be trusted even if it was gathered.

At least that's the way I see it.
