I do support being tough on the border...it is necessary for our own security to make sure everyone entering is not a threat to national security. Yes, I think we should not let people in illegally...but making it a felony is too harsh. These people aren't hardened criminals...they did break the law...but they aren't murderers or rapists...I think keeping it a misdemeanor is appropriate.

Good poll idea...I would choose Jim Morrison as my lead singer...please consider adding him as well as a section for keyboardists like Ray Manzarek and John Lennon,Graham Nash..and so on.

I wanted to just take the top hits from each of these bands, because I didn't want it to be unreasonably long, sure it could go on and on, but I think this is compiliation of the best songs recorded between the 1960's and 1990's.As for the stones and beatles, i did put at least 3 or 4 for each of those bands, like i said, i didnt want to make it sooo incredibly long. If you have any specific song suggestions feel free to let me know.

I do beleive in alot of what you said. Was LIncoln instrumental in ending slavery, did he beleive in the cause that he said he did? Lincoln's main goal was to unite the nation "A house divided upon itself cannot stand", a famous Lincoln quote.I do beleive that a major uproar over slavery was really being put out there even before Lincoln.Arguably starting when Harriet Beecher Stow published Uncle Tom's Cabin. Many aboltionists and movements were forming way before Lincoln even entered polotics. However, without legislation, slavery would never have completely died out. Even though the aboltionist movement was in full throtle at the time. The southern states made the worst mistake they could have. They succeeded from the union.Lincoln clearing stated that he had no intentions of banishing slavery, but they didn't listen.Succeeding from the Union and attacking at Fort Sumter, a huge mistake. But the real question us history buffs must ponder, would slavery be alive today without Lincoln? I dont beleive so. I think that if no legislation was passed, then yes, slavery may still be legal today. However,Lincoln was the one to put this into action, but even if he hadn't issued the Emancipation Proclimation,on of his successors would have come up with something similair. The uproar over slavery was nothing new, The civil war had been brewing since the Taylor administration, but all presidents until Lincoln had tried to delay it. The truth is that this was a conflict that was going to happen sooner or later, and the fact that Lincoln did it does make him a great leader. However was he, other than anyone else instrumental? No.Could Rutherford Hayes or Ulysuess S. Grant accomplished this if he hadn't? absolutely.Lincoln made the right decisions at the right time, therefore, securing his place as the nations best president.

During that race, none of the men were aboltionists. Abraham Lincoln didn't want to make slavery legal, what prompted him to issue the Emancipation Proclimation was the sucession of the Southern states.Otherwise, he thought slavery should stay legal where it already existed and stay illegal where it already was illigal. An intersting fact, is that in the 1864 election, Lincoln was thought to be doomed to defeat, many people thought he was a lously president, however nowadays he is considered the best in history.Lincoln did win re-election however.I suppose you could compare him to Pres. Bush, not everyone loved him, but did win re-election. That was a very thoughtful analysis and question, I appreciate it, throw anything else my way that you want to discuss.
