I all can say is that I have been taught and I treat my elders with more respect than you ever will. By the way how old are you and why are you living with your mother. One more thing, love is to respect you better love your mother because one day she may not be here. You sound like some 18 or 19 year old that thinks they can do whatever because of their age. Grow up and learn to respect.

I just graduated from a junior college and during my three years there I had seven female teachers that was younger than me. I was in my mid thirties and I had five teachers in their twenties. It always seemed to me that they were more strict and more controlling than my older instructors. They were more strict with tardies, absent and late work and they also seem to have more class rules. One more thing that was different, they all insisted that we call them by Ms. while the older instructors did not care if we used their first name. This was a little strange especially since a couple of them still looked 16 or 17.

First of all, if you are living with a parent and paying them rent and helping out with other bills then I agree with you. They should not be able tell you what to do and never punish you in anyway. However, if you live with them and do not pay them rent, if you do not buy any food including eating out and if you do not help with any other bills then I think they can and should punish you. I know when I lived with my mother-in-law she told me that she did not want any money from me but she told me she expected me to do what I was told and if I did not she would punish me in someway. With a teenage daughter living with her and basically I was living there like a teenage son then out of RESPECT for her I did do as I was told. Of course I know the younger generation knows nothing about respect for their elders.

I am a junior in high school and I have been paddled 3 times since I started high school. Once was by a male AP and the other two was by female teachers. I have to say that the paddling by the teachers hurt alot more than the one by the AP. I think that paddling a student especially a high school student is not right. They are to old recieve that kind of punishment in school. The question about adult being paddled is something that is never going to happen. And the fact that adult students now set in classrooms with regular high school students should be another reason why they should not be paddled. I have a friend that goes to the technology center and he broke a rule he was taken to the administrative office and recieved a paddling. A few days later an adult student broke the same rule and he was taken to the office and given a written warning. Now how can that be fair to teenagers. I agree with the other post, if teenagers get it then so should adults.

I have 8 votes for teachers that have paddled students over 19 years old. Please tell me how old the student was and if they were male or female. Also what kind of school was this in vocational, junior college, college, adult education. Let us know what the student did to get the paddling. Thanks.
