Holly and Erin,
I went to a catholic girls school in the US. We were required to wear a uniform every day - long-sleeved white blouse, tie, green and black plaid skirt, dark green kneesocks, and loafers. We all griped about the uniform, but many of us secretly liked it.
The worst part was the winter. We often had to walk from building to building; and, as soon as we got out of doors the bitter cold wind would instantly find its way under our skirts.
Now I am 28 and I look back with fondness on those days. I admit that my legs were always cold in the winter; and, as I trudged home from school in the snow, I often looked with envy at the girls from other schools in their jeans. But, at the same time, I felt good in my uniform, even with the kneesocks. It enhanced my femininity. I felt more like a girl. And, you know, in the end, I think that was more important to me than warmth. Also, well, I liked showing off my legs (still do), and our skirts were great for that!

========== In Reply To ========== I have a fetish for guys in kilts/ manly skirts... i find it sooooo sexy it's not even funny how much of a turn on it is for me... sometimes I ask my bfs to wear a kilt for when we make out... no one ever does but if they did it would turn me on like crazy!

Hey me too! Ever since I was a girl, I have loved looking at guys' legs, at least those that are well-toned and nicely tanned. I like the rugged look - sweatshirt or rugby shirt and shorts best. But I also really, really, really like men in kilts. Very, very sexy.
Okay, here's your question: Your boyfriend finally gives in and agrees to wear a kilt. What do you wear?

Emma,
Well, as I said, we all griped about having to wear the uniform every day, but many of us secretly liked it (me included). I admit that my legs were always cold in the winter; and, as I trudged home from school in the snow, I often looked with envy at the girls from the public school in their jeans. But, at the same time, I felt good in my uniform. It enhanced my femininity. I felt more like a girl. And, you know, in the end, I think that was more important to me than warmth. Also, to tell the truth, I happened to like showing off my legs (still do), and our skirts were great for that!
At any rate, I think you are the lucky one. You still get to wear a cute outfit every day without having to agonize over it or answer questions about why you are wearing such a short skirt on a winter day. Enjoy it; revel in it; you will look back with fondness some day. And, don't forget, it gives you an edge with the boys! They all seem to prefer girls in skirts.

========== In Reply To ========== Hi Katie,
You probably don't think it but you were lucky! I go to a Catholic school too (in Ireland). We wear shortish wraparound kilts and we're only allowed ankle socks. Plus for sports we can't wear shorts, only briefs (aka bunhuggers).
Edenhallgirl,
So, what are you: skirts or pants? From the poll my guess would be pants, given all of the questions about being forced to wear skirts on the job and so forth.
Personally, I am a skirt girl. I teach during the school year and do research during the summer, and I wear skirts every day. I also wear skirts when I am going out. I like the way they look and feel; and, of course, I like the attention I get from the guys.

Predator,
I understand that the choice of left versus right does not matter to most people. However, it matters to me and I was wondering whether it matters to anyone else.
Also, I got this note from a reader of my last poll who said that she would vary her choice based on whether her boyfriend was present. This really intrigued me. I wrote back to ask why, but she never responded. Hence, the new poll.

========== In Reply To ========== I have given blood 14 times. Here in England, whenever you give blood, they ask which arm you write with, and then use the opposite arm for the tube. Your question about swapping arms is an interesting one, but judging by the results, it doesn't seem to make much difference.
