It makes it harder for nut jobs to get them yes... but it also means that law abiding citizens will NOT have them. The nut jobs will be the only one's with guns. If you outlaw guns in a certain area (lets say a gun free zone like a college class room) and you get just one nut job with a gun and that is all it takes to kill every person in that no gun zone. to quote a professor at Virginia Tech "...you can't fight bullets with fists."

Actually members of the republican party give more to charities than registered democrats. Republicans don't not care about the poor, they just largely believe that it is not the government's business to tell you to take care of the poor. Christ didn't force the Lawyer to sell all that he had. If I do good that is my business not yours. Don't wave Christianity around like you know what you are talking about when you are as ignorant as a left shoe.
