I agree almost 100% with billbank2002. I have no experience with daughters or sisters, but my brother and I were subject to bare bottom spanking from both parents until our mid-20's, and my sons are subject to the same from my wife as well as myself. I don't think girls differ at all from boys in terms of needed punishment, nor in who should deliver it. And of course being calm and loving about it, and the discussion after the spanking, are the important parts.

My parents were very strict, and punished for things a lot of parents didn't, plus they used spanking much more than other forms of punishment. Even at the time, though I hated getting it, I didn't think it was excessive, and I certainly don't think so now.
