Thanks for responding to the poll. What part of Northern Ireland were your Reas from? Mine were from County Down (the town of Newry), and came to America in 1774.

P.S.: As for my sources, as I have said, the ultimate source for every one of the facts I've stated here is the KGB. It's cable transmissions to its American field agents, intercepted and decoded by the NSA between 1942 and 1980, as well as the archives of the KGB are the sources of this information. This isn't my opinion. It isn't some wild speculation from "right wing conservatives." It is the documented truth of the KGB's espionage in America, AS TOLD BY THE KGB. Anyone who wants to can consult the various books that have been written by researchers of these original documents, just as I have done. That's just it, though; you don't want to even bother with it because you've already made up your minds that only what you want to believe is true.

Let me clear something up, here. I am not "making claims," as you put it. I am stating well documented facts. I have even provided you with various sources through which you can research these facts further if you wish. Secondly, I am neither offering my viewpoint, my opinion, nor am I trying to convince you of anything. I have simply put out several statements of fact in order to see how you on the left would respond to them. Predictably enough, you have denied them all and resorted to personal attacks against me. This is the typical leftist response to any mention of the truth about the left. It is the response not only against conservatives who have raised these issues, but against former leftists (such as David Horowitz, Jamie Glazov and others), as well. There is nothing new about any of this; it has been on-going for several decades.

Your attempts to frame this as some sort of "debate" is of no consequence as the facts are what they are. There is no debating the fact that Democrats are supporters of communism and have been for as long as communism has existed. I can post inumerable examples of this and it won't make any difference, as you will continue to deny the truth no matter what.

As stated, my purpose in posting this questionaire was see if the left would respond to it truthfully and objectively. I made it clear that I expected the reverse; i.e., that you would deny, obfuscate and slander rather than admit the truth about yourselves. The very fact that 14% of the respondants to this pole admitted to being socialists and that some of you have, at great length, written much here in defense of communism and socialism says it all.

GaryR53]]Consider, also, that many members of the Democratic Party today, as well as during the past fifty years, have direct and indirect connections to the Communist Party of America (CPUSA).

"Shadowwatcher]]]Once again, you have made an accusation, whether it has any negative connotations or not, that is as of yet, unsubstantiated. You have however managed to repeat your original argument sans evidans, yet another familiar tactic... i.e., unsubstantiated repetition."

Actually, what I said has been quite substantiated and is rather well known fact. You simply ignore all evidence presented to you because you choose not to accept it. Take, for example, Dennis Kucinich, Democrat congressman from Ohio. He is co-chairman of the Progressive Caucus, a radical caucus of more than 50 members of Congress (all Democrats, and including Nancy Pelosi). The Progressive Caucus was, in turn, until 1999, associated with Democratic Socialists of America, which is the largest socialist organization in America.

Consider, also, that John Kerry's run for the presidency in 2004 was endorsed by both the Communist Party of America and the Communist Party of Red China.

I could on and on, listing the various connections between Democrats and socialist and communist organizations. It's patently obvious to anyone with their eyes open that the Democrats have consistently backed communism and socialism for decades. Teddy Kennedy flew to Moscow in the early eighties to meet with Yuri Andropov for the purpose of enlisting Soviet aid to thwart Ronald Reagan's re-election. Former president Jimmy Carter has traveled to Cuba to hob-knob with Fidel Castro during 2006. There are myriad connections between Democrats and communism. Anyone who would deny it is simply lying.

"But what about the postmodernism and the non-Marxist leftists and the things of that nature?"

"Non-Marxist leftists?" Well, that would be the Maoists, Trotskyites, and Stalinists, I guess. Big difference. As for postmodernism, it's not a political philosophy or an economic doctrine, but a cultural "ism," which began as a response to modernism (that being a movement in the arts and, principally, in architecture). While many, if not most Postmodernists are also leftists, the two are not necessarily one and the same. The aforementioned communists, however, whether followers of Mao, Trotsky, Stalin, et al, were and still are communists and support a bogus philosophy based on a misunderstanding of human nature and which has historically always lead to totalitarian regimes. So, nice try in attempting to dissociate those who don't exactly follow Marx to the letter. They are still part of the left and the left is anchored solidly in communism and socialism. As I said earlier, Marx himself said that socialism is a precursor to communism and not something separate or different. So, while somewhat more benign, Europe's democratic socialist nations are, nonetheless, pursuing the same ideals Marx introduced in the 1850s. It's all part of the same continuum.
