In some ways this is a very personal yet very public fact. It is on a private part of the body, so in that regard its personal. It is visible to anyone that sees you naked, or $%!@s you. In that regard it is public.

Chances are someone will find out and tell other people. Not something true of your tonsils.

========== In Reply To ========== I wouldn't ask anyone at all. It's none of my business; it's noone's business and besides, that is a question that is a bit personal to ask someone else anyway. But that's just my opinion.

Yes. I feel strongly that not letting boys wear earings if girls can is gender discrimination. If a school didn't let girls wears pants to school it would be considered old-fashion, sexist, even hateful. Why is this different?

Both dresses and pants can be appropriate and convenient for various different occasions. There is no advantage to wearing earing but there is no disadvantage either. If they're objection to earrings were truly sincere, they'd ban them for girls too!

========== In Reply To ========== Its stupid that schools don't allow boys wear earrings. My school lets girls wear earings but not boys and thats not fair. I'm nearly 11 and my mum will let me get earrings but my school won't.
