Having played tennis off and on for about 10 years, I have never known a girl to wear a thong under her tennis skirt. That would not be allowed in any competition on any level, nor would it be allowed in public places since in most places it would be considered indecent exposure.
Real tennis players wear special "panties" that are really just short tight shorts for playing tennis. Otherwise, you are just a 'wannabe porn star' with a tennis racket.
You know...every woman I know owns at least 1 skirt and every girl I know loves wearing them. I think they are just as popular now as they every were. It's just that now women have choices, and sometimes practicality is more important than style. On the other hand, I think skirts are very practical and look great on just about every girl (as long as you find the right style for your body type).
Even athletic women wear them regularly to play sports like tennis, lacrosse, field hockey, figure skating, golf, and many others. Now, there is a new line of running skirts provided by several companies.
Although, it should never be a man's decision what a woman should wear. I wear skirts basically everyday and love them. But I know most women don't - and some wear them only on special occasions.
However, I am not some dumb girl who believes that we somehow hold all the power. If a girl truly loves a guy, and he treats her with respect, honor, loyalty and decency, I'm sure he could convince her that she looks beautiful in skirts and that she should wear them more often. Maybe every time she wears one he could do something special for her and make her happy. And depending upon the job she does, she might be more inclined to wear skirts almost everyday.
It worked for me. :)
According to the EEA, companies can require certain clothing and makeup of employees as long as the clothing does not cause excessive undue hardship on one sex or the other. Th law has been used to challenge women being forced to wear skirts on the job and is normally allowed by companies as long as men are required to wear a very similar uncomfortable outfit or business dress attire.
Being a women myself, I love to wear skirts and dresses so I am a little biased on this issue. However, generally speaking, any sort of nylons/stocking/pantyhose does not cause try undue hardship for women - men have to wear similar uncomfortable garments including ties, suits, and other "hot" clothing so the issue of being too hot does not hold up. In most cases, women still have much more variety and choice when it comes to clothing than men.
On the other hand, the requirement of women to wear high heels to work is definitely discrimination as men are never required to wear similar physically damaging shoes.
Each to his (or her) own of course.
Wow! You are a real sweetheart! Your girlfriend should be proud to to be with you if you really think the way you do.
