I must assume that all the posts in this forum are purely for the entertainement of others. If not, then certainly some crimes have been described, and most of the respondants to this forum ought to seek help, preferably soem place FAR away from their families. Permanent physical alteration of the convict's body is not the answer simply because it brings up the age old question 'what if he didn't do it?'. Because of the inherent nature of our criminal justice system (and human nature in general) we can never prove beyond any doubt that someone DID something. Therefore, we should never enact a punishment that cannot be undone in the future. As to the idea of torturing the rapists, apart from numerous constitutional violations, and the fact that by torturing a rapist, you have commited a crime that is just as bad as what he did, look at the precedent that act sets. If we can painfully castrate rapists, can we break the legs of people who speed? Can we submerge robbers in boiling oil? Crucify the violent? Draw and Quarter the murderers? In short, even though this is an awful crime, we cannot torture the offender, just because it puts us on the same level as him

The reason macs are faster is that they make better use of the processor speed they have. because of this, a 700mhz mac is faster than a higher speed PC. see my previous post.

With $1200 you can get a PC with a speed of 2.4 GHZ or 2400 MHZ. Notice the difference?

Mac (700 MHZ) < PC (2400MHZ)

If you are going to tell me that I never used a Mac or long enough, spare your breath. I used those slow behemoths for years, until I tried a more productive PC.

Macintosh in and of itself is the best computer. However, the most important function of a computer is its ability to interface with other computers, run a variety of applications and be easy to use. In all these areas, PCs are clearly superior, simply because of the idiotic moves macintosh made some years ago.
I agree that Macs are better machines, but PCs are the better to use for practical application, for the previous reasons.

A Macintosh is great! A PC is just a computer. People only like them because they grew up with one or because there are more games for the PC.

A Macintosh is more orgranised, runs faster, simpler to use, but can do anything a PC can and more.

Macs are designed much better and if you just want to play games you can buy virtual PC and play them on the MAC.
