I can call an animal evil just like this: Sharks are evil.

========== In Reply To ========== I agree with Predator in every way. Sharks do have an undeserving press and need to be protected. As for Cheeky, how could anyone call a wild animal evil? Sharks are not mindless killing machines. Some sharks can fit in the palm of your hand and or totally harmless. The largest shark of all (the Whale shark) is also totally harmless and only eats small plankton. There are over 300 species of sharks, so when thinking of sharks, it’s not fair to just think about the dangerous ones. Sharks have an undeserving reputation. There have been a lot of TV shows and movies that portray sharks as being evil, but sharks are not evil and deserve to be respected. In most ways people are more evil than sharks because they either slaughter sharks for no reason at all, or slaughter them by cutting off their fins and throwing them back in the water (as Predator mentioned). They also aren’t out to get people. A few dozen people can be attacked by sharks each year, and yet over 100 million sharks are killed each year by humans. It’s really sad. More people need to be aware of this fact.

They then live out the rest of their life as a kind of bottom-dwelling creature, unable to swim, just shuffling along eating sea urchins and the like. It's utterly horrible. Do NOT, whatever you do, eat shark fin soup. It is a very cruel product. It's only because of stupid movies like Jaws that sharks have such a reputation. Most shark species are harmless to humans, including the largest, the mighty whale shark. A few sharks will attack humans, but this is usually because they mistake us for another animal.
