Hi Trish, I have been busy with uni work for the past 2 weeks, so sorry for the delay. I mentioned to Mum about the v neck jumper (in maroon wool) and she said it would be a good idea and to try (my old school unifrom had no blazer). After wearing it and not complaining, she went to a catholic shcool op shop and got me a maroon blazer to wear and straw hat with a maroon band to wear outside from today (Monday). It was a bit warm, but the bigger issue is being looked at up and down by other girls at uni, but I'm getting used to it. Takes a while to get ready though...

Posted in Should girls be able to wear shorts for PE? on 2008-02-17 23:35:12

I think girls should wear girls clothes and boys, boys clothes. At our school we have to wear black "basketball nickers", black netball skirt, and black crop top for outdoor PE. Skirts have to be taken off for all athletic sports on for team sports. Inside gymnastics, we have to wear a blue long sleeve leotard. Boys, shorts and polotops for all. For swimming, girls have to wear catsuit speedo leotards in black, and the boys just last year had to start wearing black speedo swimming briefs, much to their dislike. I feel, if we girls have to show off our lums and bump so should they...

Well done Lisa. Once you get past that first step, all seems to fall into place. I love the sound of your uniform mine, by comparison, is a bit drab. It's a big step going into full school uniform all the time, and even harder for you, having to sell your collection of casual clothes realising you won't get any more. Are you getting used to kneeling? How's the ballet going? You didn't mention your age. And I lke the idea of a bun ring or 'sock bun', I'm going to get one. Having a bun is quite disciplined, but you get used to it. Well done.

Hi Trish. As it's Australia, thankfully we only have to wear our v neck woolen jumper in winter months. I'm interested in your thoughts on girls wearing their hair in a bun. Do you make your daughter do this? I've got to say, it's very comfortable and cooler in the hot months as a sideline.

Only family members. My aunt (of course as I started that way) and uncle, but I have'nt seen my grandparents recently, but it will be expected as my Mother told them. Kneeling time is in complete silence, but my aunt dose say, "Good girls", when we kneel.
