I'm a camp counselor, male, and at my summer camp here in southern New York, I sleep either in a half shirt or shirtless. I usually am that way during the day too if the events all all permit it.

My first svs gave was in 7th grade here in NY. When we started the basketball unit in PE, the coach said "I wanna let you guys know, we play skins and shirts here." Everyone grumbled and I looked around, not knowing what the hell that meant. When the teams were divided and I started removing their shirts, and I was a skin, I got embarassed. I hated it for those 2 years.

Later, when I got in shape, I started actively trying to be skins. If I'm playing basketball I will absolutely try to get my team to be skins, particularly if girls are watching or playing.

One of the best dates I've ever had was when I invited a girl to shoot around with me and I went shirtless (95 degrees in FL). She didn't mind at all, and actually invited me to stay shirtless for the rest of the afternoon while we walked around the campus and she drove me back home for us to shower. I guess I impressed her enough, cause we got it on the first night.

I joined a YMCA basketball league this past fall, but when they brought out the 2-color jersies my heart dropped. Even scrimmages were done with color coding.

Oh well, I love it.

I don't know about all this belly punching and beating guys up while wearing a half shirt...sounds like someone might be a gay fetishist. I'm straight and grew up in the 80s, but I always hated half shirts in those days because I was self-conscious. But in the last couple years I got my hands on a slew of vintage ones and have been wearing them to the gym, at home, and out jogging for years now. I know guys look at me like I'm gay, but I try to flirt with girls to see how they react and I've actually gotten a date or two. BTW, if anyone would like, I run a half shirt fan group on Yahoo groups, called "halfshirtwearers." Membership is free, so join up. There are hundreds of pics of me, other members and some vintage sports half shirt pics on there, and tons of great discussion. Incidentally, they ARE FINALLY coming back, very slowly. Nike and Adidas are now marketing half shirts again. The Nike one is made of that Underarmor stuff (but baggy...I wouldn't wear a tight half shirt as a straight guy) and the Adidas one has the logo and saying "Adidas Running" on it. I recently did a question on Yahoo Answers on what girls think of guys in half shirts, and most said ew gross, it's gay. A few said hey go for it, be different though. I don't really get how men's abs became gay. I also have a half shirt pic on my AOL profile, and I sometimes get "nice tummy" IMs. The best though was at the gym one day, it was just this girl and me, and after we got around to some harmless flirting I said "Bet you thought I was gay?" She said she wasn't sure, but then just looked down and said "Nice navel." I thought that was so hot.

OMG...one of my favorite embarassing moments stories is being pantsed as a skin. I think I was 17, in high school, playing basketball in gym (of course the girls were watching) and this little monkey-like jerk hopped over to me and pantsed me. Fortunately only my shorts came off, not my underwear, but it still made me red.

HOW did you miss Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Beauty and the Beast show, etc.) Great actor but the man looks like a shaved gorilla.

And Benicio del Toro? Seriously, he's not bad I don't think. Martin Landau is cool-looking, not ugly.
