Why don't Generation x'ers attend spiritual gatherings ?

I recently found that 70 % of Generation X (born after 1964) has never attended a church, synagogue, mosque, temple, and the like even for a wedding or funeral. So what's the deal ?
I have never been to a church, synagogue, mosque, temple, etc. because:
