How do you define Patriotism?

Patriotism can generally be defined as the love of ones country. It seems that there are differant ideas about what constitutes Patriotism these days, so I decided to make a poll about it!

2) Which of the following are Patriotic things to do? You can choose multiple responses.
1) Work to make sure our constitutional rights are being upheld

3) Can you be critical of our government and be patriotic?
1) Yes. Especially if politicians are behaving in a corrupt manner and not honoring their oath to defend the constitution. In these cases, it IS the patriotic thing to do to oppose them.
2) No. We must obey our leaders. If you don't like it, you should move to (insert name of unsavory country)..USA USA USA.

4) Can you be critical of the Iraq war and be patriotic?
1) Yes! The Iraq war was a diversion from the focus we should have had on those that actually attacked us on 9/11. It was based on lies, and mostly fought so that the oil companies could have more control of their oil.

5) Is it Patriotic to belong to a party that advocates for a state seceeding from the union like the Alaskan Independance Party that Sarah Palins husband belonged to for years?

1) A person who thinks he/she is always right and will not accept any criticism. One who forces his/her will on others without considering the consequences.
2) A person who is confident with himself/herself, but is open to improvement and constructive criticism. One who works with other people on compromises that benefit everyone.

9) Is the Military Commisssions Act, which allows the president to determine who is an enemy combatant who can have his or her Habeas Corpus rights taken away from them (this effectively kills Habeas Corpus because it can also apply to U.S. citizens) patriotic?
1) Yes. Who needed Habeas Corpus anyways?
2) No. Our Constitution is partially based on the writ of Habeas Corpus.

1) Yes. We are a Christian nation, and we should know how much a candidate knows about the Bible.
