With the issue of health care hotting up in the 2008 campaign, Americans are increasingly demanding reform. But just what kind of reform should be adopted?

Ralph Nader's position: Adopt single payer health insurance by establishing a universal Medicare system financed by the government. This proposal would offer health care via the private sector.
Senator Clinton's plan: An "individual mandate" system that requires all Americans to sign up for healthcare, but allows those who are satisfied with their private health insurance to keep it and allows those who can't afford such insurance to sign up for either a congressional health care plan or Medicare.
Senator Obama: Somewhat similar to the Clinton proposal but without making it compulsory for all Americans to sign up for health coverage.
Senator McCain's plan: Offer tax credits and savings accounts to help individuals tap into a wide choice of different insurance schemes, and allow market solutions to improve the system, such as investing fiscal resources only in quality care and letting businesses provide some form of national health insurance.
