My name is Alexandra and I am a guy. Should I change it or not?
My "bohemian" mom gave me the "female" spelling of my name because she insisted it sounds the same as Alexandre but preferred this spelling and other reasons of her own too. She likes "unique" names etc.
So most of my life I have gone by Alex and yes, there have been times where there has been confusion over my name, and I always assumed that I would change it when old enough.
But as I get closer, some people whose opinion I respect suggest I keep it while others suggest I change it. Some girls have told me that they like it and think it's cute. Others say I will have problems with job applications but others say that I won't because I will be more standout (and not necessarily in a bad way).
So, I am just sounding out opinions.
What do you think?
