A New Sports League

If we formed a new youth sports league, which cities should get teams?
Would you like to see a new national sports league formed in the U.S., for youth? It would be just like any other, with tryouts and practices, games played against one another, and playoffs and a championship at the end.
Yes, that would be so cool!
No, I don't think we're ready for that.
What sport should be played?
Softball, with baseball as a second choice
Basketball
Field Hockey
Soccer
Touch or Flag Football
Lacrosse
other
I've changed my mind. I don't think this is a good idea for the kids at this time.
My idea is to start this out slowly, with only a few teams in the beginning. Mark below which cities you think should get teams.
Seattle
San Francisco
Los Angeles
Denver
Dallas
Chicago
New York
Baltimore
Atlanta
Miami

none/others
Most of the games would be played during the summer (when school is not in session), and perhaps a few during the early and late part of the school year--mostly on weekends and holidays. Are you still interested?
Yes!
No
Should the teams be co-ed? I'm thinking that this will help the kids learn 'people' skills, good sportsmanship, etc. Also, it's a good way to teach girls that "they can do anything". It further reinforces the notion that sports is not a male field.
Yes, make it co-ed! Let us girls play!
No! Leave the sports for the guys, honey, like it's supposed to be! Go back in the kitchen and help Mommy bake cookies!
What else can be said about this? (Check any or all.)
This is a good way to keep kids busy, so they don't get in trouble. The juvenille crime rate may go down.
This is a good way to foster community spirit and bring us together again, on a nationwide level, by cheering for our young people. Ever since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, our sense of unity seems to have grown apart.
We can charge a nominal fee for tickets to the games--or not, depending on the results of a national poll, for example--but still keep it reasonable for families.
The revenue generated by such fees can be put to use by the cities, for things such as churches and community-based organizations (CBO's), teen and youth activity centers and after-school programs, anti-crime and anti-drug campaigns, etc.
This endeavor may create new jobs in the respective communities, such as sports coaches, food and merchandise vendors at the sites, counselors and others who take care of kids, etc.
If this thing really takes off and becomes super-popular, stuff can be made and sold such as team apparel and other merchandise. This will create even more money and jobs.

No, I think you've got it all! And this whole project sounds like a great idea! I'm proud of you! I wish you luck talking to anyone who can help get this off the ground and running!
