Sex Education (in U.S. public schools)

I had sex education during eighth grade. Consequently, I was rather surprised, to say the least, to read a book in which the author stated that *her* school had had sex education beginning in kintergarden! The other thing I keep reading about these days in regards to sex education (and which our school certainly didn't have to worry about then) is the Bush push for "abstinence-only" education. This poll is asking about PUBLIC school classes, not parochial-school ones.
