New Stand-Alone Final Fantasy Sequel

There have been many sequels or spin-offs of the Final Fantasy series, most recently Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII. But I was wondering, which of the FF series would be most deserving of a true sequel in video game format?
Which mainstream FF game would you like to see have a sequel? This is excluding movies, spin-offs and expansions. Also excluding the already FFVII: Advent Children (movie) and FFX-2 and FFXII: Revenant Wings (future release).
