Iowa & N.H. Power in Picking President

I've lived my life in New York and California, never missed voting, and never had a voice in choosing a presidential candidate. Every four years candidates and media spend attention on the Iowa Caucuses & New Hampshire Primaries. A Majority of candidates will drop out before they get to any races beyond New Hampshire. Do these two small states have too much power in choosing a president?
LARGE STATE RESIDENT (if you come from one of the ten largest population U.S. states) how do you feel about Iowa Straw Poll getting a lot of media coverage?
It's great -- those people in Iowa cared enough to come out to voite
It's good -- gets people thinking about presidential candidates
It doesn't matter
It's overblown -- a few hard-core party faithful have swayed attention to certain candidates
It's absurd -- Mitt Romney spent $442 per vote for 3,500 votes it was treated like a "victory"
