Sacrificing Loved Ones

If forced to choose between the life of a loved one (or the lives of a few loved ones) and the lives of many, many strangers, where does one draw the line?
If an evil mastermind forced you (absolutely forced you) to choose between sacrificing the life of your husband or wife (or if single, the life of a parent) or the lives of 100 elementary school children, whom would you save?
