What do you think you'd do if you found yourself in these scenarios?
Say that you needed to be up in the morning to go to work, and thus, had to be in bed, trying to get to sleep. But your room mate (or the equivelant of) was making a lot of noise in the next room. What would you do?
Try to ignore it.
Go buy some ear plugs.
Ask them to keep it down.
Ask them to keep it down AND buy earplugs.
Do you think two people who dated can be friends afterwards?
No, it's just not possible.
Yes, once they put aside their differences.
It is a rare thing, but it could happen.
If a friend called you at an odd hour of the morning, needing to ask you a question, how would you handle it?
Ask them what they need and talk to them for as long as they need.
Tell them, irritably, that you need sleep and their silly question can wait.
Explain that you'll be glad to help, but ask them to keep it short, as you need sleep also.
What would you do if you realized that you were the only one making a solid effort at conversation (while using an IM service or on the phone)?
Stick with it, even if you have to talk about the weather in some foreign country! They're probably just pre-occupied.
Ask them what it is they're up to.
Say that you need to go and hang up/block them.
Point out that they seem extremely distant.
Ask them if they need you to go/call back later.
If one day, you have a child and, in their late teen years, they become interested in dating an older person, what would you say?
It's fine.
If they're over 17, it's okay.
It's not okay, under any circumstances. They must be 21.
If they're over 18, it's okay.
If you pulled up to a drive-thru window at a local fast food restraunt at 10 minutes till closing time, and they claimed to be closed, how would you react?
Accept it and drive away.
Protest and say that you want your food.
Ask them why they have closed early.
Are you kidding? I wouldn't order food that close to closing time!
If your boss said she/he would probably be giving you a raise, but after a month, failed to do so, what would you do?
Go about your normal work - asking about it won't help.
Ask the reason to see if your work habits need improving.
Work extra hard - Show them you deserve it!
