Speedos or Boardshorts

I am 14 years old, and hate boardshorts. I like to wear speedos, but i'm not quite sure how my parents would react. Considering that boardshorts are always either much to short in the leg, or barely hang on to my rear-end, i feel that wearing a tighter article of clothing may give more decency to my swimwear. This poll will let me know what others would do.

If you were in my position - no low pants or tight shirts, so speedos would be questionable - how would you request a speedo?
