Vibrators Used for Sexual Pleasure
The following survey was developed in an attempt to understand the use of vibrators for sexual pleasure and to substantiate or contradict rumors and urban legend that claim using a vibrator for sexual stimulation may cause loss of sensitivity, numbness, nerve damage, and impair orgasm. While I am not aware of information that supports these claims, I also cannot locate evidence that would show these claims are untrue. A couple women over the past several years have reported decreased sensitivity after using a vibrator, though other causes were a possibility. The use of a vibrator and loss of sensitivity may have been coincidental. Vibrators are believed to be beneficial to woman and are even recommended by doctors to help women to become orgasmic. It seems unlikely millions of women would be using them if they were as harmful as some claim.
This is an unscientific poll and the results cannot be verified.
