What are yourthoughts about the results of the '04 Presidential election?
There have been accusations that the Republicans intentionally and systematically made it more difficult for voters in predominately Democratic-voting areas. Such as not enough voting machines, inconvenient locations, misinforming voters, etc, or by excluding likely Dem-voters from being allowed to vote at all. Do you think this happened?
Yes, in a significant number of states or precints.
Yes, but in only a few instances.
No, never happened anywhere.
It has been suggested that electronic voting machines were rigged to provide false counts. Do you believe this happened?
Yes, machines were rigged to count more votes for Bush.
Electonic machines made mistakes, but were not rigged to do so.
No, electronic machines gave results just as accurate as any other system.
Exit polls predicted very similar results to the actual counts in states where there was a paper-trail, but seemed to be wrong in states where there was no verifiable paper ballot. The discrepancies favored Bush in all cases. Is this true?
Yes, there was a discrepancy only in electronic-machine states.
Yes, there were discrepancies, but they were not significant.
No, the machine results were all accurate, even if different from exit-polls.
If the Ohio vote is overturned, and the state is carrried by Kerry, it would mean Kerry would win the electoral vote, while Bush won the popular vote by about 3-million. Which of the following would be true, in your opinion?
Bush won the popular vote, so would be legitimate even if Ohio was rigged.
Bush won he election, period.
Bush's win is not legitimate, because the electoral vote was rigged.
The rigging was so bad, Bush probably didn't even win the populat vote fairly.
Consider this possible court ruling: The most fundamantal principle of a democracy is transparency of elections. Go back and conduct the election again, and again, until this court is satisfied that the elction process is clearly and openly fair and honest. Would you agree with a judge who ruled that way?
The judge is wrong---transparent elections are not the basis of democracy.
The judge is right---keep voting until the elections are fair.
The elction is over. All we can do is learn from our mistakes.
George Bush made only one campaign appearance in Ohio in the last three weeks of the campaign. Why was this?
He didn't think he'd need Ohio.
He was sure he'd win Ohio fairly.
He knew the voting machines were rigged so Kerry could not win Ohio.
He thought other states would be more important.
His campaign organization was stupid.
Do you think there will ever be a fair presidential election in your lifetime?
Yes, elections have always been fair and always will be.
Yes, we have learned from our mistakes in the past two elections.
No, elections cannot be fair.
No, the party in power can always manipulate the elections.
No, Bush will declare himself 'President For Life' and there will be no elections in Bush's lifetime.
